Wedding FAQS

What makes a celebrant-led wedding different from a registrar or religious ceremony?

A celebrant-led wedding is entirely bespoke. It’s not bound by legal or religious frameworks, which means your ceremony can be held anywhere — indoors, outdoors, at home, or in a venue that’s meaningful to you and at any time throughout the day or evening. I will work with you to create a script that reflects your love story, values, and personalities.

Are celebrant weddings legally binding?

Not currently in England and Wales. You will need to complete the legal registration separately at a registry office. Many couples choose to do this quietly before their celebrant ceremony.

Are you LGBTQ+ inclusive?

Wholeheartedly. Love is love, and every couple deserves a ceremony that celebrates them with joy and respect.

Can we include religious or spiritual elements in our ceremony?

Absolutely. Whether you would like a prayer, blessing, or symbolic ritual, I will tailor the ceremony to reflect your beliefs and preferences — or keep it entirely secular if you wish.

Can we include rituals like handfasting or candle lighting?

Of course. I offer a range of symbolic rituals, or we can create something unique just for you.

Do you help us write our vows?

Yes, I offer gentle guidance and examples to help you express your promises in your own words. Whether you want something poetic, humorous, or heartfelt, I’ll support you every step of the way.

What happens if you’re unavailable on our chosen date?

If I am already booked, I’ll do my best to recommend a trusted celebrant with a similar approach and ethos.  I am a member of the LocalCelebrants.com

Do you offer additional services?

Yes, I am happy to act as Master of Ceremony (MC)/Reception Host, introduce speeches, announce key moments ie cake cutting first dance, ceremony flow management, coordinate with DJ/band, photographers, caterers, games/audience interaction or interactive elements during reception.

Funeral FAQS

What does a celebrant do at a funeral?

As your celebrant, I meet with the family/friends to learn about your loved one’s life, values, and personality. I then craft a personalised tribute and lead the ceremony with warmth, dignity and care — whether it is at a crematorium, burial site, or memorial venue.

Do you include religious content in funerals?

Only if requested. I offer secular, spiritual, or faith-inclusive ceremonies depending on your wishes. My role is to honour your loved one in a way that feels true to them and comforting to you.

Can we include music, readings, or family contributions?

Absolutely. I will help you choose meaningful elements and coordinate with anyone who wishes to speak or contribute. Every ceremony is shaped around your preferences.

Do you offer memorials or ash scattering ceremonies?

Yes, I offer gentle, personalised ceremonies for memorials and ash scatterings, which can be held at a location that feels special to you.

Can you help us plan a funeral in advance?

Yes. I offer gentle, thoughtful pre-planning services for those who wish to shape their own farewell. It’s a beautiful way to ensure your wishes are honoured and your story is told with care. Planning ahead gives your loved ones the gift of clarity and space, freeing them to grieve, remember, and celebrate without the weight of decision-making.
